Burhan Sili, President of Alanya Touristic Hoteliers Association (ALTID) and Member of the Board of Directors of Türkiye Hoteliers Federation (TÜROFED), stated that the extension of the Eid al-Adha holiday to 9 days is a positive decision both for the citizens to have a comfortable holiday and for the revival of the tourism market. Sili said, “The extension of the holiday is a great opportunity for the tourism sector. The occupancy rates of our hotels seem to start with the holiday period. We are also making our preparations to meet this demand and to welcome our domestic and foreign guests who come to our city in a good way, together with all our stakeholders.”

Alanya Kaymakam Fatih Urkmezer, Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Ozcelik, Antalya Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Dr. Candemir Zoroglu, representatives of associations and civil society organizations, district presidents of political parties, and a large number of tourism professionals attended the Alanya Touristic Hoteliers Association (ALTID) season opening cocktail event organized at Haydarpasha Palace. Before the opening cocktail, Economist-Writer and Istanbul Topkapi University Rector Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin came together with sector representatives.

“EVALUATION MEETINGS WILL CONTINUE”

Burhan Sili, Member of the Board of Directors of the Türkiye Hoteliers Federation (TUROFED) and President of ALTID, said in his speech about the organization, “We held our 2024 season opening cocktail at Haydarpasha Hotel with the support of our sponsors. Economist-Writer and Istanbul Topkapi University Rector Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin attended our event as a guest speaker. He shared valuable information about the economic situation of Turkey and the world. Both our members and we gained important information from this conference. It was an enjoyable and informative conference. At the event, we came together with our members to discuss what we can do and what we need to do in the coming period. Such events are extremely important both in terms of socializing and bringing the sector together and evaluating existing problems. We have done this too. We will continue these meetings in smaller groups, albeit not in this style. As ALTID, we will make every effort with all our friends to be beneficial to the sector.”

Following the conference, Prof. Dr. Emre Alkin and the organization sponsors were presented with plaques of appreciation at the cocktail area.

President Sili, accompanied by board members Ruhat Ülgen Cengiz, Adil Müftüoğlu, and İzzet Köseoğlu, visited Governor Hulusi Şahin at his office. Regarding the visit, President Sili stated, “We visited Governor Hulusi Şahin at his office to discuss the current state and recent developments in our region’s tourism sector. We had the opportunity to hear Governor Şahin’s views and recommendations on these matters. We extend our thanks to him for his hospitality and for graciously taking the time to meet with us.”
