Branch Information:The first charter flight in June will land to Gazipaşa Airport.The airport takes place 35 km far away from Alanya.Alanya is the most popular direction of Swedish and Scandinavian People.
Those information above is given during an interview of Alanya Mayor Hasan Sipahioğlu to “Flytorget” Magazine.
For this reason,the shortage for the 180.000–200.000 Swedish People will be discussed in transfer terms every year.The 2–2,5 hours of distance from Antalya will decrease to 30-40 minutes from Gazipaşa.
According to the what Alanya Mayor Hasan Sipahioğlu said,one big Swedish Charter and Scandinavian Firm started to work for arranging flights to Gazipaşa Airport.
At the beginning of the summer,other organizators will request to make deals when the airport is ready because the half of the Swedish people who are coming to Turkey are the guests of Alanya.
Alanya Mayor is always in connection with TAV management.This company is the administrator of Gazipaşa Airport and they continue their works now. TAV manages other international airports at the same time.They are İstanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Manastir/Tunus and Tiflis International Airport in Georgia.
TAV made a deal for managing Gazipaşa Airport for 25 years.
“The new airport will carry a big importance for Alanya.The lenght of the runway at the opening will be 1.825 metres.The efforts at the area will continue and the length of the runway in 2010 will be 2.400 metres” says Alanya Mayor.
As understood,TAV did some negotiations with Easyjet which was an English charter before for Gazipaşa direction.
This airport is expected by the Swedish people who has properties in Alanya Region.
The scheduled flights such as Ankara or İstanbul are planned at the same time.
Gazipaşa Airport will increase the interest to the region.More people will desire to own properties.Alanya,at the same time,will be an attraction center for İstanbul,Ankara or rich Turkish people.People prefer Bodrum now because it is easier to go to Bodrum by plane.Property and Construction sector will become more important together with the opening.
Turkey is the third biggest charter destination after Spain and Greece.Turkey is expected to be first this year because Euro Currency increased the prices in other countries.
