“This year, Alanya was promoted at the Matka Helsinki Fair held between January 18-21.
Alanya, one of Turkey’s popular destinations, took its place at the Matka Helsinki Fair held in Finland in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The fair provided an opportunity for industry professionals, tour operators, hotel chains, and travel agencies from around the world to come together for future collaborations. Over the course of the 4-day fair, Alanya’s unique tourism potential was presented in detail to the visitors.
“We Want the Season to Be Extended”
Representing Alanya at the fair, Şükrü Cimrin, a Board Member of the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), stated, “Tour operators are working diligently to meet and even exceed the expected demands. We held meetings with Aurinko Matkat, Mixx Travel, Tjareborg, Longitours. Plans for Alanya as a destination are being made well beyond last year, and they are ready to increase it based on the emerging demand. In all the discussions for the upcoming season, we brought up the issue of extending the season. The positive effects of this approach on the tourism sector cannot be ignored. Extending the season throughout the year provides tourism destinations and businesses the opportunity to attract tourists for a longer period. This can contribute to the regional economy and expand employment opportunities. Moreover, extending the season balances the demand for destinations because it makes tourists’ travel plans more flexible, allowing destinations to more effectively assess the capacity of tourist spots.”
In addition, the team representing Alanya in Finland met with Turkey’s Ambassador to Finland, Deniz Çakar, at the Turkish Embassy for a discussion.”
