ALTAV held its General Assembly Meeting with elections. During the assembly, new members for the management, audit, and advisory boards were elected.
The Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) 2024 General Assembly with elections took place at the Alanya Cultural Center. The General Assembly began with a moment of silence and the national anthem. The opening speech was delivered by former Vice President of ALTAV, Mehmet Dahaoglu.
“WORKING DILIGENTLY TO REPRESENT ALANYA PROPERLY”
Dahaoglu emphasized their collaborative efforts with all stakeholders since taking office, stating, “Under the ALTAV umbrella, we have worked tirelessly with major institutions, tourism professionals, journalists, and businessmen to initiate numerous projects for Alanya. Today, we will present the activities we have undertaken with joy alongside my colleagues whom I am pleased to work with and the budget details for the years 2023. As members of the ALTAV board, we have taken great pleasure, excitement, pride, dedication, and peace in our work since assuming office. It has been a great pride to explain Alanya’s values to its stakeholders within our means, such as arranging additional flights to Alanya-GZP Airport that were not originally scheduled. It is also an honor for ALTAV to be cited as an example in every dialogue, both domestically and internationally. Representing Alanya admirably on platforms where our country itself is not represented is very exciting.”
“THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED”
“Being able to brainstorm with Alanya’s great minds, generate new ideas, and achieve positive outcomes is very enjoyable. It is heartening not to deviate from our path despite facing financial challenges in some of our projects at the outset. Sacrificing time we could spend with our families and contributing to our homeland and industry without any financial considerations brings great satisfaction. However, it is disheartening to be wounded by baseless criticisms from shallow minds who sometimes fail to understand our true purpose and the invaluable benefits we bring to Alanya. Yet, knowing that our efforts and the substantial and lasting benefits we bring to Alanya are real is very gratifying. As someone who was not born in Alanya but loves my city deeply and wanted to briefly share the emotions I felt while serving it, I would like to express my gratitude to our former Mayor of Alanya, Adem Murat Yucel, who trusted us and entrusted this valuable institution of Alanya to us, as well as to our esteemed members. I thank all my colleagues on the board who supported me. Alanya Touristic Hoteliers Association (ALTID) has always been our greatest supporter, putting its weight behind us in every successful endeavor undertaken for Alanya. Therefore, I extend my heartfelt thanks to ALTID President Burhan Sili, both personally and on behalf of the institutions he represents. Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation has always been and will continue to be a successful and esteemed institution, and we have no doubt that it will remain so. The wind we started in 2014 will blow into a storm with our newly elected President Osman. Everything will be very beautiful for Alanya.”
PRESIDENT ÖZÇELİK: “NO DISCUSSIONS ABOUT FORMER OR CURRENT MEMBERS”
Following Mehmet Dahaoglu’s opening speech, Alanya Mayor Osman Tarik Ozcelik took the podium and stated, “First and foremost, I thank everyone who has contributed to our foundation since the 1990s, nurturing it to its present state. I believe their goal is aligned with mine, my team’s, and yours. Today, there may be changes, but none of us will discuss former colleagues or current ones. You already know me in one way or another, whether from the past or from our commercial relationships. Personally, I believe you all know that my mindset and thoughts are not otherwise.”
PRESIDENT OZCELIK: “WE WILL TURN OUR STRENGTH INTO A STORM”
President Ozcelik, asserting that unity within ALTAV will increase, declared, “I believe we will strive to transform our speed and strength into a storm, just as we have come this far with what speed and strength. There should be no doubt about this. I know that unity will increase, and we are all here solely for Alanya, as you all know. We are all running, will continue to run, and will continue to run until the end for Alanya. When the day comes and I hand over my responsibilities to a brother or a friend, I hope that these friends will also turn the storm into a hurricane. We will prepare the infrastructure for this, and I believe in it. I wish prosperity for our Alanya. May Allah not embarrass any of us.”
NEW MANAGEMENT AND BOARDS APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY
Following the speeches, Huseyin Hacikadiroglu was elected as Chairperson, Ali Orkan and Nurhan Ozcan as Members of the Board, and Sevki Tac as Secretary. The 2023 activity report of the board, the audit committee report, foundation income and expenses, and balance sheets were read and unanimously approved. New members for the management and audit boards were elected.
HERE ARE THE NEW MEMBERS OF ALTAV’S MANAGEMENT, AUDIT, AND ADVISORY BOARDS
The following were elected as principal members of the management board: Osman Tarik Ozcelik, Abdurrahman Acikalin, Kerim Kilinc on behalf of Alanya Touristic Hoteliers Association, Cem Ozcan on behalf of Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kemal Karatas on behalf of Turkey Travel Agencies Association Alanya Regional Executive Board, Şukru Cimrin, Alper Gencelli, Yakup Uslu, and Gokce Aydogan Ergun. The substitutes include Tevfik Sipahioglu, Can Som, Gokcen Kayakiran, Didem Dim Ozaltin, and Mehmet Tanritanir.
Huseyin Dari, Huseyin Degirmenci, Ozkan Unal, Izzet Koseoglu, and Sukru Bingol were elected as principal members of the audit committee, with Zeyni Ozcan, Huseyin Gumrukculer, and Erhan Yonet as alternate members.
Gulcin Guner, Muge Alanay Gucuoglu, Cengiz Topcu, Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU), and Alanya University were elected as members of the advisory board.
PRESIDENT ÖZÇELİK: “WE ARE HERE FOR ALANYA”
Following the selection of the new management, Alanya Mayor Osman Tarik Ozcelik stated, “With the support of our predecessors, we want to accelerate this like a storm, hoping they will complete us if we have any shortcomings. After all, we are here for Alanya. My wish is for the best.”
